Colac Baseball Club Inc. The Braves

Can You Be Brave Enough in 2011?

2010 B Grade Premiers

Colac has secured it's 2nd B Grade flag in three years downing a gallant Mounties 7-6 at Pioneer Park.

Mounties mounted a challenge from the get go with 2 runs in the 1st, only to be answered by a 3 run triple to J Schram in the home 1/2 of the first.   After a dogged 8 innings, Colac held a 7-4 lead and looked like taking it comfortably in the top o the 9th, but Mounties did not lie down scoring 2 runs before the Braves closed it out 7-6.   Starting Pitcher Michael REID, GBA B Grade MVP and reliever Brad EGAN, GBA B Grade MVP runner up put on a fine pitching display. Jason Schram put his body on the line on more than one occasion and the entire team played one of the best games of baseball played by the Colac Club.   This takes it to three GBA premierships in three years for the Braves, 2 in B and one in B reserve. We look now to presentation night and season 2011.

Update

Apologies for the lack of updates, but without a dedicated guru, the site comes last in running the club on and off field as well as actually having a life and a job.

To bring you all up to date, we claimed the minor premiership in both grades despite having lost 4 players through the season for their own reasons and having to battle the world with the bare minimum each week.   Persistence has paid off and now B grade are int eh grand final after a thrilling come from behind win in the bottom of the 9th against Mounties last weekend and B res take on Alfredton in the Preliminary this week. We are on face book as well and some articles on Wed and Fri in the Colac Herald.   3CS sport has news some weeks as well and will be in touch for the remainder of the finals.
